If you in aismoothe enable Respond To User Aircraft in the setup, it will protect your rear but not your front and in some cases might interfere with RC separation on final. Use your TCAS display when merging into a leg of a pattern such as on final. Consider in aismooth increasing the spacing of aircraft on final a bit so you can squeeze in. If you do this you mind find more ai in holding patterns so use TCAS to avoid flying into holding aircraft.
