Replacement Gauge Options

I'd like to replace FSXs gauges (which appear to be holdovers from FS2000!) with something a little more precise and graphically pleasing to the eye. I have looked at the Reality XP ones, but I am a bit dismayed at having to buy two packs to get both the basic flight gauges and the nav gauges (CDIs, etc.). Are there any other options out there for quality gauges?

This doesn't answer your question, sorry. I'm also thinking of getting the Flight N and T series gauges from RxP. Are they easy to replace the default C172/182 gauges with? I will also watch this post in case there are other alternatives as well.Thanks, Bruce.

The Reality XP gauges are the ones to get... they look great and are silky smooth..

This doesn't answer your question, sorry. I'm also thinking of getting the Flight N and T series gauges from RxP. Are they easy to replace the default C172/182 gauges with? I will also watch this post in case there are other alternatives as well.Thanks, Bruce.

While you may not like them, the gauges for the FSX C172 are completely new, and in fact cannot be used in FS9 at all because the XML script schema is incompatible... :( As it happens, FSX won't even loadmost FS2000 gauges...

I am with Bert-the reality xp gauges are great-silky smooth making them natural for instrument work, easily customized with a wizard (red line, blue line etc.) and modeled to their real world counterparts.Only problem I have is we need more!!!!Also-invest in FS panel studio-well worth the cost and makes swapping instruments a piece of cake (along with making your own 2d cockpits).

While you may not like them, the gauges for the FSX C172 are completely new, and in fact cannot be used in FS9 at all because the XML script schema is incompatible... :( As it happens, FSX won't even loadmost FS2000 gauges...

They very well may have changed the underlying code, but the graphics are pretty much the same as I remember from FS2000 and 2002.
