Having inadvertently admitted to marrying beauty with a beast and giving birth to an abomination that is my CS/PSS merge in the screenshot forum, I have received a number of PMs asking for the details of the merge. Since I can’t hope to answer everyone individually, I’m posting the details of this rather futile endavour in this thread.But before we go ahead, here’s a DISCLAIMER:I make no warranties, express or implied of any kind of a fitness of this merge for any particular purpose or otherwise. If this merge fries your PC, decides to format your HDD, murder your cat or rat to the RIAA about all those MP3s and films that you may or may not have on your PC or tells the grocer about that stick of gum you shoplifted 15 years ago, that is not my concern and you agree to indemnify me of any liabilities either now or in the future.What this merge will do:It will give you a somewhat functioning 2D PSS panel with a somewhat functioning CS 757 visual model. The plane will take off (but rotate by itself before Vr, if you don’t lower the trim), and as an unexpected bonus, it will land. It will also turn left or right, not necessarily following pilot input, but blame the PSS FDE for that. It might even autoland, if you’re nice and talk to it in a sweet, reassuring voice. Do not yell at the panel – it will crash.What this merge will NOT do:It will not give you a VC, it’s impossible (at least to my knowledge) to merge a VC from one model to another, as these are hardcoded to their respective visual models. Tough. Deal with it. It’s 2D or the highway. It will not tell you that it loves you and keep you warm at night either. It won’t even make you a decent cup of coffee. Last, but most definitely not least: it will not give you a realistic approximation of a real 757, largely due to the fact that the 757 panel and FDE are very much removed from the ideal, but also because it’s a merge, and all merges are terrible, rotten compromises.Bottom line:I have NOT done any extensive testing on this. I have just the bare amount of knowledge to put something like this together, but don’t have the know-how or the time to manipulate the aircraft.cfg to make things flawless. This is quick, this is dirty. It’s meant to at least try to get you up in the air and then get you where you want to go. Nothing more. I would however encourage everyone to tweak the hell out of these base settings, maybe we’ll end up with a good 757 yet.So, let’s get started…here’s what you need:1. A copy of the PSS 7572. A copy of the CS 757 pro pack (v. 2 I believe, this will NOT work with any other version of the CS 757)3. A little bit of faith and a whole lot of miraclesAnd now, we mix the ingredients:Create a new folder, dump the contents of the CS 757 in there, including sound, panel, etc. Copy the contents of the PSS panel folder into this panel folder as well. Now, delete the CS air file and copy the one from the PSS 757. I used the PW air file for my merge. Having checked the differences in the aircraft.cfg between the PW and RR models, it seems the only differences are fuel flow and thrust ratings, so I’m pretty sure you can use the RR air file if you prefer, or just create two different folders for individual variants without greatly upsetting the outcome.Now, open up the aircraft.cfg and delete everything except for the fltsim entries. Done? Ok, now change the sim=cs757-200 to sim=PSSB752_PW (or RR, depending on your preference) for each fltsim entry. Also think about changing the ui_manufacturer and title lines to make them unique, so that FS9 doesn’t have trouble identifying your new abomination.And now the easy part, paste this into your Negative.Everything works pretty much the same as in the LDS 767 and I love it. It makes the CS757 equal to the LDS767 to me personally, and without this panel conversion, they are in two different leagues in my hanger.My first thought was that you had "Yaw damper" enabled and you just could not see the movement. But A bit of irony. They even work when I did not expect them to when I just double checked. With a number of aircraft, if the "yaw danper" is enabled, there is little to no visable movement of the elevators or ailerons, but they moved in my CS757 either way with that function enabled or disabled. On your bird, do the airlerons and elevators have no effect in flight , or is flight ok but movement is just not visable (especially on ground checks)?If they move with other aircraft, I am a bit at a loss. My second suspicion would have been that you needed to check your axis options for your joystick, but I don't know of any reason they would be different on this individual bird. Sensitivity setting might have also been a possibility, but again, nothing is unique to this individual aircraft to my knowledge relative to controls working.One other thought. On your toolbar, you do have "Level-D > Settings". I wouldn't think so, but there might possibly be an assignment there that is negating something.I make a number of personal choice modifications to most of my birds, but am not aware of ever having the problem you describe before or after. I don't think I changed anything that would let mine work differently from your installation, but if you would care to have what I have and see if it makes any difference, I would be happy to email my panel content and aircraft.cfg to you. I've had the same problem when working on this merge. Make sure you have the CS757's icon gauges (windows 14 & 15 here for the pro pack, probably different for the block B, but same principle applies) referenced correctly in the panel.cfg, that's what was blocking the elevators and ailerons here. I'm making a leap, but given the exact same symptoms, it probably is the same disease.

That was exactly it...it had to do with the icons. I figured it out about 30secs after I made the first post! I'm way out inleft field on this one too as I'm using my own FDE, so it's a 3 way merge haha!Thanks guys!

Sorry to bring this back up, I just tried this merge with the CS 2.1 Pro Pack and it worked perfectly (or so I thought) I was trying to add the winglets to Jet2's G-LSAB and the sim deciding to stick on "Loading scenery objects" and then crashed. I soon found out this only happened with the merged aircraft.Can anyone shed some light on this? I hate the terrible navigation on the CS. I will try re-merge the two to see if i get any better results.Thanks.Chris.

Ok just to let you know that i have managed to get it working fully now, however i have a problem with the trim. When i try and set trim for takeoff it just goes all the way to full 14 units and wotn move back down again, any ideas on thisThanksDavid

How come once I merge there are low FPS! I didn't have this problem before, is it my comps prob or merges?Pentium 4 3Gz1GB RAM512MB Graphics Card
