747-400x Displays Blank During Preflight

Recommended Posts

Guest duncanw

G'day all,I'm brand new to the PMDG 747 and this forum.I'm running FSX on Vista 32 and have a boxed copy of 747-400x which I believe I have installed correctlyI've just started the Type Certificate Course 1st lesson.Working (slowly) through the checklists. Done the overhead iaw instructions, done the initial setup of the FMC iaw instructions. As I'm working on the Captains MCP all my CRT displays go blank! I've read some instances of blank displays after 30 seconds which suggest a registration problem. In my case I'm talking 30 minutes or more where the displays have worked fine then suddenly nothing! Can anybody help? Have I perhaps taken too long and simply run out of battery power? My APUs seem to be functioning fine as does everything else.Cheers,Duncan Woodhouse (sad newbie)

Yeah, that first time through the checklists takes at least an hour. Make sure the utility loads are on and at least one apu generator on line (overhead electrical panel). Not sure what else could cause this.
