Moving Autogen Trees with the wind!

Recommended Posts

Guest lawyerpilot

As if someone was reading our minds... Seems as if it could be rewritten to apply to all autogen trees, rather than just one object at a time....it does create a repitive back and forth motion as we were looking for....but, it also appears that like other critics of my idea, that I believe that framerates would suffer with hundreds of moving objects like that...Airport from Wilco is a great example of what happens to framerates with a lot of moving objects...P4 1.8768 ram 80 gig hardriveVisiontek Ti4 4600CH yoke/pedalsElite Multi quadrant19" inch monitor-Soundblaster PCI 512Win XPInstrument rated ASEL -224 hoursAOPALawyerPilots Bar Association"Men without dreams are never free, twas thus this way and thus will ever be."

I can't say I have ever used trees to determine wind direction or even noticed much tree movement unless winds were 25+kts and I was taxiing. I do tend to use them as a gauge at my house though before I go flying. I can usually estimate the wind speed by the tops of the trees...:-) BTW- I would like to see those cloud shadows on the ground in the next version! Wishful thinking maybe....

Lago's Honolulu has swaying trees. I don't see any frame rate loss from the effect maybe because it's done with GMAX? Looks really cool too.Best Wishes, Randy J.
