737 Cruise Flight Question.

Recommended Posts

Guest Wags94

Okay, I've been playing FSX for awhile and finally got everything down (or at least, I know just more than basic, I'm not expert yet). I was flying at 30K feet at the 737's cruise speed. I noticed I am not flying level, I am flying straight but at an angle, I think my AoA was 5 degrees. Am I supposed to be flying like this? Or am I supposed to be at straight and level flight from point A to point B?

I've also noticed this in the PMDG 747 and LevelD 767, and those guys have taken great care to make everything as accurate as possible. I guess that's just the way they fly. Odd, as I can't say I've ever noticed that I'm walking on a slope when going to the bathroom on an airplane.Colin

The most efficient pitch for most aircraft at cruise is slightly nose up.

Yes, yes, exactly! If you've ever been in a real aircraft, you'll notice, on your way to the lavatories in the back of the plane, you'll have to slow down because it's sloping gently down. If you're going up front, it'll take some effort to get there as it's sloping up.

Anywhere between 5-10 degrees.
