Just have a question about this quote

Direct ToGoing direct to a waypoint in the MD-11 is a dedicated function on the MDCU, accessed by pressing the DIR INTC key. You can NOT go direct by line selecting a waypoint to the top of the F-PLAN page the way you would do on a Boeing CDU. Simply press DIR INTC, then line select the waypoint into the box at the top or type it into the scratchpad. Confirm it and off you go.
What if My flight plan is something like this.YVR ADSIX PCE BOOTH OPALE YYCAnd ATC tells me to fly DCT PCE... if I enter DIR INTC / PCE, how do I ensure that the rest of my flight plan doesn't dissappear. I used to have this issue on the wilco A320; it would fly to the point when instructed to fly DCT somewhere, but after crossing the point it wouldn't continue on the flight plan. Thanks !

The flight plan after PCE will not disappear. A discontinuity will be added after PCE. Just clear it and PCE will be connected with the next flight plan waypoint.
