Clean Vista Configs And Apc Tray Applet

Recommended Posts

I just installed a battery ups for my FS computer. The software that came with it installed a tray applet that starts with OS boot, that has no obvious way of disabling. (It is not loading via HKLM/Microsoft/Windows/Run regkey...)Is there any known downside to having the APC (battery UPS unit) tray applet loading on Windows startup? It consumes 2,100 kb of mem, and does not appear to be using any significant cpu resources.I'm just worried about it affecting FS. Anyone have any problems with this or similar apps?

no worriesIn truth the unit, at least most, will work without the software and USB/CAT/software interface. Sometimes it requires setting them up by their face controls to 'sensitive' to ensure fast switching when the AC line drops without that interface however the service it ports off of is not a problem.. dont worry about it unless you are really hard up for every drop of memory
