What is "H" Distribution?

Recommended Posts

As the topic states...in the fuel selector box in the load manager...what is "H" Distribution?Did the usual search (the search engine won't allow a phrase with one letter BTW), as well as quickly scanned the copious reference material. On the other hand, it's 3 am here, and I'm way past my bed time (thanks to PMDG & their MD-11 :( )Thanks.Dave Skuback

From the manual titled "Introduction":"H" (heavy) fuel distribution" is an option that most airlines use thatallows for a higher Take-off Gross Weight (630,500 LBs instead of625,500 LBs with "L" (light) fuel distribution). It requires that fuel isdistributed to the tanks in a way that AUX and TAIL tanks are filled withan 7.5 to 1 ratio. Under this option the FSC (Fuel System Controller) willperform a ground fuel scheduling operation transferring fuel betweentanks to ensure that the 7.5:1 ratio is maintained while on ground beforetake-off. Note that this option can also be changed from the LoadManager.
