Where to get started

Hi EveryoneJust got all set up with the 11 and my repaints over the last few days. The manuals are fantastic, so much info I dont quite know where to start with this very complex bird. Is the best way to go through the tutorial and then where to from here? This is obviously going to take quite some time even though I was familiar with most aspects of the other birds, but want to get in the air asap as well.Loved the 736789 and 744, this takes things to another higher level again by the look of it.Congratulations to all involved.Cheers Tim

Well, the tutorial is of course the obvious way to start, but I have to say I personally have a lot of problems er... translating the manuals into practice... I can't figure out how to start the plane from a complete cold and dark situation and it's also way too difficult for me to use the overhead in the various manual modes... No real big deal because I like the transit mode the tutorial starts in and I also like the automatic modes, but I do look forward to the advanced tutorial. I don't have the idea I will ever be able to use the info from the manuals during my flights... It's too complicated for me. Maybe it will become easier after the advanced tutorial. But I have the idea I would need a advanded tutorial for EVERY part of the overhead to really fly this plane in manual mode. :( But again, that's no big deal because the plane is meant to be flown in automatic mode of course.

As has been stated many times in this forum a very guide source for information is the ITVV Video Martin Air MD11. Of course it doesn't get into as much detail as the manual does, but you get a very very good overall sense of the airplane and how it's flown. ITVV also has produced a number of DVD videos that can be used as learning material for other msfs aircraft add-ons that are considered high-end, eg Virgin Atlantic 747-400, Leisure Boeing 767-300ER, BM Fokker 100 and the Concorde. The one airplane they don't have that I really miss is the Boeing 737-NX series.Anyway, take a look here http://www.itvv.com/. Nice prices and very quick delivery!
