Take off speeds and runway condition

Recommended Posts

Dear PMDG and fellows,Maybe I missed a point out, but does the MD11 fms take into account runway condition(dry or wet) for take off speed calculation ?I cannot see any entries on the MCDU regarding this parameter.Where to find correct V1 if the runway is wet ?Do I need extra paper sheet with take off performance data to do that ? Thank youBest regardsGeorges Col

No, real FMCs do not include such data. On wet runways pilots would not be allowed to use any de-rate for takeoff so this is an easy case - just do not de-rate your engines. By the way I even have no idea if this makes sense under FSX, I highly doubt FSX simulates any wet runway effects besides how it looks.

Flex take off is allowed for wet runways.V1Wet = V1Dry-17 knots, with a minimum V1 of Vmcg (=136 isa, sea level). However, flex take off is not allowed for contaminated runways like standing water, slush, snow etc. In these cases a full thrust take off should be made.Floris
