Thanks for all those great FPs!!I can add a real route from Asia: This is Taipei - Shanghai as used for the Taiwan-China direct flights and a variety of aircraft types, including the Eva Air cargo MD-11 for example. These are brand new procedures not propagated in the AIRAC yet. RCTP BAKER BERBA OLIVE SULEM OKATO KN SHZ AND ZSPDnote that OKATO is a new waypoint not included in the current AIRACOKATO N2735.1 E12134.6The segment Dongshan NDB 'KN' to BEGMO via OKATO consists of KN - OKATO 105/285and OKATO-BEGMO 032/212And for your way backZSPD HSN BEGMO OKATO SULEM VIOLA BERBA BAKER RCTPFlight duration is a scheduled 1:30. Over SULEM, flights eastbound MUST use FL240 FL280 or FL340westbound must FL250 FL290 FL370NO other FL will be assigned!China uses metric RVSM, Taiwan FIR uses feet. The area between OKATO and 5NM west of SULEM is used to transition between metric and feetSULEM and OKATO are compulsory waypoints with ATC reportingThe segment BERBA OLIVE SULEM OKATO KN is currently the ONLY route from Taiwan to central and northern China. Plan your route to other Chinese destinations from KN.For southern China, fly via MKG ELATO to Hong Kong (CH), then enter Guangzhou FIR from there. Eva fly their MD-11 to ZGGG at the moment, and used to fly to Macau.Other real MD-11 routes from RCTP are to VHHH, RJBB, WSSS, WMKP and PANC, pretty standard. Well, let me explain it to you ;)For example, we take this flightplan:FIN5 (OH-LGA, EFHK-KJFK, EET 7:41)N0470F320 PIVAK P854 PIR UY70 PRI/N0467F340 UL80 TOGMI UP855 ABADA DCT 65N000E/M082F340 66N010W 66N020W 65N030W/M082F300 63N040W 59N050W DCT LOACH DCT FOXXE/N0471F360 N264A TAFFY/N0471F400 DCT ENE ENE4Flightnumber is FIN5, the flight is operated by the aircraft with the registration OH-LGA, the routing is EFHK-KJFK, estimated enroute time 7:41 hours.First stepclimb for this flight is up to FL320, the expected GS will be 470kts ==> N470/F320. The waypoint PRI will be passed at FL340 and a GS of 467kts, over 65N000E the speed will be announced in Mach, here Mach .82. At waypoint 65N030W will be a descend to FL300 at Mach .82. FL300 will be maintained until reaching FOXXE, there you will have a climb to FL360, expected GS 471kts. And the last stepclimb will take you to FL400 which you should reach at TAFFY ;)

First stepclimb for this flight is up to FL320, the expected GS will be 470kts ==> N470/F320.

This is the real life Eva Air Cargo route RCTP RJAA. RCTP ROBIN R583 LEKOS G587 PABSO R583 BISIS G581 ONC ON POMAS SABAN GURAR DEMPA TAPOP W28 SOPHY Y52 SAKAK Y523 ALUPA NJC PERRY Y231 BOSOH V18 ORGAN VENUS RJAAFlights departing RCTP to Japan via R583 and G581 receive preferential treatment, such as climb enroute, etc. I think its to alleviate pressure from A1, one of the busiest airways around. Westbound return only above FL380!

Hello,All of those factors are taken into account by the dispatcher , step climbs usually to save fuel and headwinds and same with step decend's. There usually use a special piece of software not available to the public domain. But you can use a similar software like F.O.C ( Flight operation center ) which will do those calculations for you. http://www.danur.com/frontpage/prod01.htmFBW,
