I guess it could be Flaps 15, got any other ideas?That would be the speed that once you slow below it then it is okay to deploy 15 degrees of flaps, but not like the 737/747 where it is a flap deployment schedule. The MD11 does not provide a deployment schedule, just the max operating speeds for various configuration changes such as gear, slats and flaps.See also the manual for the aircraft (very important that you learn to look there first for answers).

If F15 is displayed in green, you are below the flap 15 limit speed and it is safe to extend the flaps (to 15 deg). If F15 is displayed in amber, it means your current IAS is above the limit speed and it is unsafe to extend flaps to 15 deg.The same applies to all other limit speeds. They display as amber or green depending on whether your current speed is above or below the limit. GE - Gear ExtendFR - Flaps RetratctSR - Slats RetractSE - Slats ExtendF15 - Flaps 15F28 - Flaps 28F35 - Flaps 35F50 - Flaps 50Not all of these limis are displayed at the same time. Important schedule data is displayed for departure and approach, on the FMC takeoff page.

That makes it sound as if the information is only there for reference, as if you can extend and retract flaps without any consequences (apart from breaking them of course :( ), like with a Cessna C172. But when I am flying (during approach) at 240 and extend flaps to 15, the speed automatically drops to 180. So it's not just reference (again, like with a Cessna C172).
