FS weather (fsmeteo and activesky screenshots)

Boy the FSMETEO sure looks better. There should be much more low cloud in the Activesky shot... that's moer like scattered than broken. You may have sold me on FSMeteo! :)EddieKSLC

Hi,If I remember correctly, the broken clouds can be 6/8 of the sky, but in fsmeteo you can see a blue sky in the horizon, not sure if it is ok with overcast at 070.I think fsmeteo looks better.Ulisses

Hi,It appears you have not allowed wxRE to finish building the clouds via the cloud transition engine. wxRE is the only add-on that works like this. It is meant to build the clouds over time so that weather does not snap into place. Screenshots DO NOT do wxRE justice unfortunately in this case, perhaps waiting until the cloud formations are finished (you can speed up your cloud interval) will give you a better indication of the 'finished' cloud simulation.PLEASE do try this and post another thread with the new screenshots.. I waited 3 minutes to get the screenshot, but I'll do another test...sorry for any problem I caused, I already got good results with activesky.I'll post a new thread soon.Ulisses

Eddie,A purchase decission driven by just these two screen shots might not be the smartest thing to do. I can guarantee you that the skies I get with wxRE are nothing short of spectacular. The gradual transitions are magnificient and add a lot to the realistic character. I do own both FSMeteo and wxRE and even though I think FSMeteo is a great program I definitely prefer wxRE. Also note the blue sky peeping through on the horizon in the FSMeteo shot. It's just that sort of thing that Activesky fixes so well.

The weather report shows high humidity, with temparature and dew point the same. Conditions might tend to haze or mist.The ActiveSky screenshot captures this better than the FSMeteo.

Henri,This thread got me excited about weather. I had been using the free version of ActiveSky. Doing research on the forums, I saw MANY postings from Damian. That, along with other's high praise convinced me that ActiveSky was the better choice. So I bought it. I love it! BTW - I like the "blue band" fix in ActiveSky. You don't have that artificial blue horizon seen in the FS Meteo screenshot.Damian... thanks for being so accessible. That devotion to the community just got you another 20 bucks! :)EddieKSLC

Eddie,Thanks for the feedback. I am happy to hear that you like it so much as well. For me weather is also very important and I am using wxRE in every flight.
