FRAPS HELP!

Recommended Posts

maybe but the key point to remember is:FRAPS DOES RECORD WITH OTHER PROGRAMS
Yes but as Opa pointed out FS9 (and FRAPS) are both CPU intensive. Your Celeron CPU may run at just over 3GHz but it probably doesn't have the onboard cache or number of pipelines to handle all the info of both programmes. Also, as others have pointed out is both a strange number and somewhat low and your graphics adaptor is going to struggle, regardless of your experience on other games. :( Iain SmithEDIT: Should read "pointed out, memory is both a strange number". My CPU is obviously overloaded!

Yeah but the strange part is that i noticed that Game Cam worked on FS2004 but it was too complicated so I switched to FRAPS.

If FRAPS does not work well for you, have you tried FSRecorder?http://www.neusinger.net/recorderMany of us find this an excellent replacement for the default recorder in Fs2004.
yeah but point of the recordings is to be able to play and edit them outside of FS2004 and fs recorder says
The recorded flights are saved in a binary file format containing flight data and can thus only be played back inside FS. These files are not video files, so it is not possible to play them with a video or media player, or to convert them into video files.

Too bad you did not make that clear in your original post - Fraps or another program such as Camtasia are what most of us use when we wish to create a recording which can be shared.I am still of the opinion that your processor is simply not up to the job.

yeah but then why does gamecam work and not FRAPS?SIG posting rules;1.) Only one (1) image is allowed2.) That image shall not be larger than 400 x 60 pixels in size3.) The image file shall not be larger than 10 Kbytes in size4.) The image can be animated, but shall not exceed the 10 Kbytes sizeYou can use text in your signature, but the use of any image shall adhere to the above. Thank you for your co-operation.

Off topic - but it sure would be easier to read your posts if you would remove some of your signature graphics. As it is now, any message from you takes up the whole screen.Just a friendly suggestion.

quote:yeah but then why does gamecam work and not FRAPS? end quoteBy "gamecam" I assume you mean the recorder which is built into FS2004 - right? This is a very non-technical reason -The default recorder creates a very simple video file which cannot be edited or played on anything other than FS2004. It can be shared but the user must have the same version of FS installed as you do. It has little impact on frame rates because you are not asking the computer to run an "extra" program (such as FRAPS) while running FS2004. The file which Fraps (or any other screen capture program) creates is much more complex (and can be edited) but all that requires processor resources which your system apparently does not possess.Hope that helps a bit.

I was not aware of that software - does not seem much different than Fraps, at least in what it can do.Learned something new today - thanks. :(

Well Ken (Tyer22) that was a real good try, but you only removed three of the five and both of those still showing are over the allowed size here at Avsim... get it down to ONE graphic and make sure that one is within the 400 x 60 pixel rule....Thank you
