Any Suggestions on Planes

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. Thanks for the help in advance. There are many great freeware products in the avsim library and I appreciate developers hard work on freeware planes, VC or no VC :(. I just need to find some good general aviation aircraft for Flight Simulator X with good virtual cockpits and decently modeled systems (basic stuff like attitude indicator, alternators, battery, etc.). I would prefer planes with virtual cockpits closed to payware quality, but any quality should suffice as long as the text on panels is readable and trustable in terms of simulation to the real plane. If it helps, some of my favorite general aviation planes in FSX are the Cessna 172 of course (I fly the G1000 equipped version more often though), and the Beech Baron 58. I do not like the Mooney Bravo that much because if its reduced visibility out of the cockpit. So again:*Freeware planes with nice virtual cockpits*Preferably close to payware quality*Readable text on panels. Thanks for the help again, also thanks for the warm responses on my first week of posting! :(Almost forgot... It would be nice to have any suggestions on freeware add-ons. Like FSFDT, FSUIPC, etc.

Hmmm, there's not a whole lot of great freeware GA.A few I have installed:Neoqb Fokkerhttp://neoqb.com/fokker/MiniMax at Sim OuthouseFR_MiniMax_v2.zip Piglet's Meyers 200d at Sim Outhouse200D.zipPiglet's Mooney M18C at " "M-18C.zip(Notice a trend hehe)Rick Piper's A22 (FS9 model but it's nice)http://www.horizonsimulation.com/downloads.htmI honestly don't know of any detailed GA freeware acft other than those listed above.I personally use all of RealAir's stuff and the Eaglesoft's SR22 G3 Turbo for most of my flyingOne more thing, go to Alexander Metzger's site and you can download better air files for the default planes:http://www.metzgergva.de/One more more thing hehe, the Justflight/FS Insider C152 is here toohttp://www.justflight.com/microsoftc152.asp

Thanks for the great help and freeware add-ons. I think I'm gonna love those improved .air files for the default planes, because although they fly well, some things seem to be missing in the flight characteristics, maybe because of the learning curve? I guess for now I'll stay with my C172, although it goes at slow speeds if you compare it to aircraft and not cars, it is still an awesome plane. I just wish some more work was put into the default G1000 systems, because some things are unreal or some features are missing. It is still a great G1000 package though.

Guest JimC1702

Search the Avsim Library for Rien Cornelissen, he's got some very nice Pipers uploaded. Then look at the Navion Rangemaster, also in the Avsim Library.Jim
