Running FS9 at a higher priority

Recommended Posts

Beaten to death here:http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...amp;hl=priorityTake it from there.
I don't want to go in a discussion if it is advantageous to set FS9 to a higher priority or not. I my case , i have set it to high and I have the feeling FS9 is running more smoothly and until now I haven't experienced disadvantages of this setting. Discussion closed! I wanted only point out here that I found a free utility to set an executable to a higher priority without going through a cmd window.Rgrds,Hugo

AS I said...already discussed, including any such utilities. It supposedly works for you. Terrific. It doesn't for others and they should be aware of that before using your recommended utility.

Hi,I was using "cmd /c start "" D:/FlightSimulator/fs9.exe /high" in the past for starting FS9 in Vista at a high priority. Sometimes the processing of the command seemed not been executed (in fact it was delayed, but why?) and a new click of the shortcut gave me then 2 or more images running of FS9 with OOM's as a result! In an other forum I found a link to this freeware utility:http://www.prnwatch.com/prio.htmlI installed it, changed the command line in the shortcut back to "D:/FlightSimulator/fs9.exe". The utility works nicely, memorizes other exe parameters too, I have no more the ugly appearing and disappearing cmd window anymore and no more double or triple schedules of FS9. May it be of help for you too.Rgds,Hugo
Thanks for the link, Hugo. :( :(
