No panel or sounds with new Convair CV-440

Just read that Bear liked the newest Convair propliner and installed and then realized it had no panel, gauges , or sounds. Do you have to download an earlier convair or are these available separately? Description says its a complete package. Anyone know?

Oooops! I jumped the gun. I guess the Readme does say to get the panel and sounds at a separate website. My mistake. Sorry for dumb post.

Hi,Some of the Convairs come complete, and others do not (to save people from downloading the same panel and sounds over and over and over...).If you want a complete package, for the 240 download the American CV-240, and for the CV-340 or CV-440 download the Frontier CV-340. I'd just like to jump in here and say that the Convair's and the DC-6's have really been a breath of fresh air for FS2002. They are about all that I've been flying for the past couple of weeks.Great job on them.Tim13

Ucanfly,Don't feel too bad, I got caught in the same situation (check the feedback for my latest Bear Picks!). Because I have several of the Convairs loaded on my harddrive, my downloads of the CV-440 and the military variant, automatically alias to my prior panel/sounds downloads. I installed these latest FS aircraft, as downloaded, and they both automatically had the 2D panel and custom sounds working, so I assumed they were in the newest file downloads. Not particularly a big deal, but I should have caught it and made note of it in my mini-review! No matter though, the packages are still very good in my opinion.Bear!

Yeah thanks alot Tom and company. Now there is another facet of FS2002 to be addicted to. The work and dedication of people like you is what makes this software so special.

Well, I'm red-faced, again. Getting to be a regular thing with me. (Last week, could not figure out how to close the door, Falcon 50)..... Now, yesterday, no panel on the CV440 (Navy), but I did have sound & smoke - but - only on engine #1.... tried 10 times to get engine #2 going (first) and all I'd do was drain the battery spinning the prop... (LOL). Obviously, something I'm doing wrong. But the engine that did start had "great" smoke affect ! The model itself is spectacular - especially the folding stairs ! Thanks for the insight..... I'll try again today.

Sorry about that! Thanks for the nice 440 reviews and the kind words here - we started this project in August of last year and it just kept growing. I didn't think we'd ever get it done! Every time we thought it was about done we'd decide to add something new. Took one of the 440's out for a test pattern earlier.... Very nice, until I landed.. Because, it was only after I landed that I found I had no brakes..... Ended up rolling off the end of the runway, collapsing the gear and crashed....Didn't have time to try it again, but will try it again to make sure it wasn't a one-time problem... (Would a hard landing break the brakes? It kinda nose-dived into the runway at one point when I was trying to flare and get it down after coming in a bit too fast)

You probably broke your landing gear on the hard landing, I would guess. There are indeed brakes, but not the super strong kind often found in FS - they will get you stopped, but they are set so that you will require the same amount of runway the real ones do.BTW, you also have prop reverse on our panel (get on the ground, throttle to idle, pull the REVERSE T handle, wait for the red light, advance the throttle to 15-20" Manifold Pressure. Throttle back to idle at 40-50 kts and start braking). Great panel, great sounds and most importantly flies just like one would expect such an aircraft to fly. This a/c has a seriously GOOD airfile!!!!!!It takes around 4000 feet to pull this beast up.Barry
