REX = Real Environment Xtreme (http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/)FEX = Flight Environment X (http://www.flightenvironment.com/)ASX = Active Sky X (http://www.hifisim.com/asx.php)ASA = Active Sky Advanced (http://www.hifisim.com/asa.php)XG = X-Graphics (http://www.hifisim.com/xg.php)These are all environmental graphics addons (weather, sky, clouds, water textures etc etc). Some also have weather engines and other odds and ends. Which one to use is another question alltogether...Konrad

ASX and ASA don't belong in this list, because those are weather engines ONLY! They come with no textures at all. REX, FEX and XG are indeed environmental graphics addons, meaning they replace the default textures for skies, clouds, water, etc., giving you numerous better looking variations and options. Of those three only REX comes with a weather engine (which is a bit basic and/or not working really well yet, according to some people). ASX en ASA (ASA is simply the newer version of ASX) 'only' tell FSX what (real time) weather it is and (simply put) where to show clouds, wind, storm, rain, etc. ASA does this a LOT better than the default FSX weather engine, I can assure you! I own FEX and ASA and it really transforms FSX into something far more realistic.

Don't forget GEX as wellGround Environment Xhttp://gex.flight1.net/
GEX is something else again and not really related to FEX, REX or XG. Nor ASX and ASA. GEX replaces ground textures. To make the list more complete (and even more confusing): there also is UTX, which adds realistic roads and water plus landclass. Yet another program which is not related to all the addons mentioned above. :( Yes, those FSX addon devs really like abbreviations...!!!
