Why Vista doesnt use one core 100% for FS9?

Recommended Posts

Why Vista doesnt use one core 100% for FS9???I have an AMD socket 939 X2 3600 running at 2GHz; 3GB DDR1 RAM and a Asus Nvidia AGP 7600 with 512MB.Using XP pro 32bit for FS9.1 it maxes out one core 100%, but using Vista FS9.1 or FSX is not using all what it can take - why???Regards, Torben

Vista gives me around 2 to 3 fps at EGLL (third party pay-addon), just uses around 30% of any core and has BIG stutter, the AI are jumping, not taxiing around.XP pro 32bit gives me 3 to 5 fps at the same scenery, none stutter at all with the same performance settings and core 1 is constandly at or around 90 to 100% usage, core 2 is used by other stuff.

Disable multi-threaded rendering in your NV control panel.
Ok, will give it a try. But then the nvidia is runing in none multi mode - but Vista still cannot be forced to use one core only for FS9, doesnt it?

So friends,I installed XP pro 64bit, installed FS9.1, moved my FS9 Backup folder over to where now FS9.1 is installed, copied settings etc. over, so XP64 knows where and what to do.Now, I get real nice FPS with my old hardware, much better than with vista, even better than with XP32bit!
