747-400X for FSX

Recommended Posts

Hi, New to PMDG and have just got this version for my birthday. On install I get message advising me that my FSX version is more recent than FSX SP1. This product was tested primarily using SP1, Acc and SP2 etc. I have had FSX, SP1 and SP2 for some time now, but have not used for months. I reverted back to FS9. PC not up to running FSX. I am now running on a duel core machine. hence my return. I am experiencing a few probs. I load the plane from the cold and dark that came on disc and things seemed fine (I am new to this plane and on a steep learning curve and I am following tutorials) but each time I close down and start from scratch. I start the plane from cold and dark but the engine fans twitch and APU sounds emanate. I have also had smoke from all engines. I am sticking to the start up to the letter and do not touch anything on the deck unless instructed. Help for a novice heavy jet flyer will be very gratefully received!!!

The message about SP1 can be ignored using SP2.I do not make an add-on aircraft the default flight, I always create or load a flight using a more complex simulation than default. The smoking engines is a FSX-ism. This normally happens when you re-load a variant with the same engines. See also the FAQs in the PMDG Ops wiki knowlege base. Handy place to visit. Also, please sign your posts in this forum and happy contrails.
