Douglas R4D-6 NATS panel andDC-3 Airways N1776

I am unable to open the Douglas R4D-6NATS panel.I have loaded the wjrdc34a.zip,wjrdc34b.zil and the Jan Visser DC-3 DCA N1776 files. When I open FS2002 ,using a default aircraft (as suggested) and then select the N1776, the cockpit view shows: "Douglas DC-3 by Bill Rambow and Ray Chaffen Click a photo to choose panel"When I click nothing appears.I can hear the fantastic engine sounds, see the N1776 in Spot Plane and Tower Views ,but can't see the panel!!!The R4D instructions say to copy the contents of the Pilot folder to the "FS2000 Pilots folder"As I didn't have a Pilots folder in FS2002 I created one .I notice the files in "Pilots"are:Start-up Situation .FLT and Start-up Situation.WXIs this the problem?Any help would be appreciated. I feel I am one click away from success.Rodger.

If your R4D does not appear, you may have only got as far as installing the FS2000 version.

This is a quote from the readme with the FS2002 update.REQUIREMENTS - WHAT YOU NEEDMicrosoft FS2002, Professional or Standard Edition installed on a system that will adequately run it.The FS2000 NATS Douglas R4D-6 Visual Update, "r4dv40up.zip", installed in FS2002. (See installation section for important note) or...The FS2000 version 4 package from the R4D Donationware CD, "r4d_fs2k.exe". (Thanks again for your generosity to MAAM, you are about to be rewarded! (read on)__________________________________________________________________WHAT YOU DO NOT NEEDYou do NOT need either part of the two parts which constitute the FS2000 NATS Douglas R4D-6 (DC-3), file names: "wjrdc34a.zip" and "wjrdc34b.zip". Nor do you need any of the three R4D patches that have been issued over time. Everything you will need is included in the Visual Update and this new package. John

Hi Rodger,You need to get the following files from Avsim:r4d_2k2_101814.zipR4D-6 (DC-3) version 4.75 for FS2002 - Updates the world's most-downloaded FS DC-3 plane and panel. All new gauges, sound package, and flight model make it compatible with FS2002. It's complete, but time-limited Donationware. Unlock key is Free to Donationware CD owners, past MAAM donors, and members. All others must pay a $5 registration fee for their key to the Mid Atlantic Air Museum to help re-engine the real R4D. Requires FS2000 R4D installation. For a no-download, up-to-date, self-installing R4D for FS2002, order the CD at http://www.maam.orgr4d2k2ap.zipFS2002 R4D-6 (DC-3) v4.75 Auto Pilot Upgrade. Self-installing patch that fits a new Sperry MKIII Autopilot to R4D-6 (DC-3) v4.75 (either r4d_2k2.zip or R4D 6th Edition CD. NOT required for 7th Edition CD). Fixes all autopilot irregularities caused by changes in the way FS2002 AP's function. See readme.txt prior to installation for an important note. Includes illustrated Autopilot Manual for the R4D-6 versions 3 through 4.75 by Bill Rambow. Upgrade by Roy Chaffin.r4dl_fix.zipFS2002 lights update for Jan Visser's R4D Nats v4.75. Mofified .mdl file and aircraft.cfg. The large nav lights have been replaced with the FS2002 lights configuration. Fixed by Paul "Priddy" Pridmore with Jan Visser's consent.Personally, I'd recommend getting the CD, as it comes with all sorts of extra goodies !Cheers,Alastair

Alastair,I will follow your advice and order the CD.I like the idea of "self installation.I have been using variant of the DC-3,but when I heard the sound of the R4D-6 I decided that's the one for me.Once again thanks for your help,it is appreciated, especially those DC-3 DCA files.(It would take me a week to type a document like that!!)Rodger.

Hi Rodger !Good move, you won't regret it !Just a couple of points:1) The text above includes a modification of some data to make the profile more like a DC-3 than an R4D from "Trev" of "The DC-3 Hangar"http://www.douglasdc3.com2) The above also includes the FS2002 "lights fix"Cheers,Alastair
