ALY Key - menu bar

Have been flying FS9 for some time now and just now getting into flying FSX. Have a simple question here. When I open FSX (in a window) and I hit the ALt key that brings up the FS menu bar. In FS9, if you hit the ALT key again, the menu bar would disappear from the top. In FSX, this does not seem to work the same way. How can I hide the menu bar once it is there? Thanks, Al

Hold down ALT until it disappears.
