747 Doesn't capture localizer

Recommended Posts

I just flew a flight from KMIA to TNCM. The flight went great, up until it was time to capture the localizer. it didn't.I was vectored to final approach for runway 9, and verified that the correct frequency was listed in the FMC. 113.00.I selected LOC mode well before crossing the localizer, but it wasn't captured. I didn't even see the "localizer/Glideslope" registering on the PFD.At this point I was not in LAT or VNAV mode.I've found this is the case any time I'm on a flight plan in the 747. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?Gavin Steiner,RW Provate Pilot - YYZP.S. I was vectored to runway 9, but the FMC only gave the option for runway 10... however in both cased the frequencies were the same. 113.00

TNCM doesn't have a ILS approach on either runway. 113.00 is the frequency for the PJM VOR.PS, with an outdated AIRAC, runway 9 is runway 10. Either way you know you're landing facing East.

There is no Localiser at TNCM. So there is nothing to capture there.

Weird. The FMC offered an ILS approach.

Check again. VOR/DME is the only approach at this airport unless they added some RNAV approaches recently.
