Setting up TP on a seperate hard drive

Recommended Posts

I have a quick question. I see how you can edit the ProxyUser.ini to direct the cache_folder=C or to a D drive. But what about the TileProxy Photoreal World?Maybe some one could explain how to set this up on a seperate hard drive. Thanks,Ed

Use the Force of the TP Installer, Luke ;-) (obvious Star Wars reference)

Thank you Christian I will re-install TP and look at that option.Should I completely un-install TP and start over again? Is this the best way to run TP on two different drives in you opinion? Thanks,Ed

Installing over is fine.I cannot really make any particular recommendation. I have previously put all Tileproxy folders on a separate partition to minimize fragmentation on my Windows partition.

The only place the caches are identified and defined is in the details sections of the .ini; I create them at will - just create the top folder first before you try to use it.examples:cache_folder=D:\cacheTerracache_folder=D:\cache_msNWcache_folder=D:\cache_yhSWcache_folder=G:\cache_msMVSThe Word Scenery folder should be set up at installation as Christian said (and left there). BUT, if you want to experiment, you could create a duplicate via COPY and then rename the original while you experiment with the copy. This is best done immediately after clearing the folder so it has only the original files in it.Loyd
