FreeFlow Bermuda texture problem

Recommended Posts

Hi All,I've had this beautiful FS9 FreeFlow Bermuda scenery ever since it came out and it has displayed/worked well all along. Now, all of a sudden there seems to be a texture problem along the TXKF runway as shown in the picture. I've reinstalled the whole scenery including the patch etc. from my original downloaded (ffbmv1.3.zip) and have even replaced the main FS9 texture folder from my backups, but to no avail. If I de-activate the whole Bermuda scenery the white area disappears so I must conclude that it's a problem within the Bermuda scenery itself.......but that's wierd because I used that same .zip file to install the scenery in the first instance.Does anyone have any ideas. Thanks in advance.Hans

Looks to me like you are missing, or have a bad texture. The .bmp that is missing is TXKFNorth.bmp which is the photoreal ground texture and should be in ...\FREEflow Bermuda\Texture.I have tried to zip a copy of mine and upload it but receive a message saying I am not allowed to upload files, something have done in the past. :( Hope this helps you sort it out.Joe

Hello,

The .bmp that is missing is TXKFNorth.bmp which is the photoreal ground texture and should be in ...\FREEflow Bermuda\Texture.
Pure technical talk .. seem's to me it's impossible to be a missing texture in the ZIP .. and so .. impossibility to this texture missing in the scenery after installationAnd also not a corrupted in the ZIP or the decompression will not be allowed. And also .. not a corruption in the copy-past or the installation process (certainly not possible twice .. as the OP reported twice install)I used this addon .. and seem to me .. the airport texture sometime flash white when approachingMaybe it's just a rendering problem .....Anyways .. this is the texture (RAR file 41KB)http://rapidshare.com/files/208603834/TXKFNorth.rar.htmlOriginal:682 Ko7 october 2005, 18:30:05Regards.bye.gif

Thanks guys for your suggestions and the TXKFNorth.bmp file itself.1. Yes, I tried the Free Flow forum more than once in the past but my registration, although confirmed as being recieved every time, seems to have to go through some kind of filter first and then I never hear from them again. It seems as though they don't like me for some unknown reason.2. I downloaded the TXKFNorth.bmp (thanks again) and overwrote the existing one in the Bermuda texture folder but it didn't help so it could be some kind of exotic rendering problem after all. It is actually the only Bermuda texture having as dimensions: 1024 X 1024 and is the largest of them all at 683 Kb. All the others are: 64 X 64, 128 X 128, 256 X 256 and 512 X 512, all of them ranging from 3 Kb to max. 171 Kb. However, when viewing the TXKFNorth.bmp file, it seems to be O.K. and not different in relation to any other photo real type files. About 90% of the picture is black with only a small part at the bottom containing the photo real terrain image.Could the size and/or the dimensions somehow be my (specific) problem ? A possible graphics card problem ?Greatful for any help.Hans

Have you changed the AFCAD file for that airport? This might be a source of error as it defines airport layout. I have had similar problems when 2 AFCAD files were installed.Another problem could be mesh: parts of the airport could be "underground" if a different mesh is installed. This would lead to flickering or maybe even to whiteout.Cheers,Sascha

PROBLEM SOLVED !!As a last resort (on a "You never know" basis) I copied the file "TXKFNorth.bmp" to the main FS9 texture folder and presto, the white area along the runway at TXKF is now covered over by the non transparant part of the file. However, why moving this file resolves the problem and why the "FREEflow_Bermuda_OB1.bgl" suddenly searhes for this .bmp file in the main FS9 texture folder, instead of in Bermuda's own texture folder, remains a total mystery. The only thing I did lately was to install the standard FS9.1 update.Hans
