Thrust reduction 747fsx

Recommended Posts

How do you get the throttle to reduce at a certain flap setting rather than height? I have noticed in the manual that it says you can enter throttle reduction as a flap setting but when for example I try entering a setting, say 10 , 5, or 1, nothing works, I get the message format error or something like that in the fmc? Am I entering the numbers correctly etc?Great sim, thanks for any help you can give.ThanksBarrie Davies

My (limited) understanding is you are setting a flap acceleration altitude on the TAKEOFF REF page on the top left field by entering takeoff flaps and height. The and Thrust Reduction in 3L position, which can be height or flap value. If you want to reduce thrust as flaps are reduced below 5 then the takeoff flaps in 1L should be 10 for example and the thrust reduction value 5. I've basically quoted page 12-41.

I was just wondering is it possible to change the number of the flap setting for throttle reduction. I can only seem to enter flaps 5 as the throttle reduction, can you for example enter 1 or 10 etc and if so what format does the entry need to be written in the fmc? I've tried a few different numbers eg 01 flaps 1 F 01 etc, always says invalid? Thanks again, any advice or feedback is much appreciated.RegardsBarrie Davies
