Manual ILS entry

Been trying to find a way to manually input ILS freq and heading into the 747X. Just did a landing at FBSK rwy 08. Couldnt pull the ILS aproach up in the FMC, and had to do a missed approach followed by a visual landing.

Don't you just enter it into the NAV/RAD page? I'm pretty sure it's similar to the MD-11 in this regard. In the FMC, press the NAV/RAD button and enter the frequency and course in the ILS LSK. Well, scratchpad then LSK, but you get the idea.

Tried that but kept getting a "invalid entry" in the FMC. I tried looking up how to do a manual entry in the manual but no joy.

What frequency are you trying to enter? Remember that only certain frequencies in the 108-117Mhz range are ILS signals. Be sure to include the front course, for example:108.7/065Paul
