Sidewinder F.F. Pro with Windows 2000 Pro

Is anyone using the MS Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro joystick with Windows 2000 Pro?? If so and you have installed the MS software SWGameEN.exe version 3.02 can you tell me how you installed the software??I downloaded it from MS but when I try, I get an error that it can`t find a file . Looking on the original software CD v v3.0 that I used OK with W.98SE I located the "missing" file but where would I place it so that the installer would find it.Alternatively is there another "profile type" softeware for W2K??Many thanksGeorge

You should not install this software since all Windows Operating Systems from Win98 through WinXP had the proper files included. You should however make sure you have installed all the Win2K Service Packs to ensure you have the latest files.Once you have the OS updated, plug in your joystick, select Control Panel, Gaming (Game Controller or however it is listed in Win2K), if you joystick is not listed, select Add, search the list for Microsoft Sidewinder (auto select - if available), click OK, and see if the joystick is recognized.

Thanks for your reply - I had in fact done what you suggested and got a W2K driver so that the joystick was recognised BUT the software I weas refering too gave the facilitiy of making profiles ie FS2k2, CFS2 etc etc and I found this quite useful.Re the SP3 pack - I have ordered this from MS and perhaps this may helpRegardsGeorge
