ASA depiction prob

Recommended Posts

Guest Philsphreak

Hi,I've been having this issue pop up my last 3 flights and it makes it very difficult to do any flights. Upon first loading of FSX, the weather depiction is correct, as are the temp, pressure, and wind. However, by the time I am taxiing (maybe 10 mins later) the visual weather depiction (clouds) is still fine, but the pressure, winds, and temp revert to FSX ISA default. I refreshed the weather and it did nothing. I have DWC turned off for the PMDG 747 (even with the new beta, still get S-turns) and this is the only time I have seen this prob. I attached a screenshot showing the ASA weather and what FSX is giving me to illustrate the prob. Thanks, Sheldon

I have more or less the same Problem in FS9.Weather Depiction Output is done, but the Pressure and Temperature are still Standart. 1013 and 15C.Even after a complete Restart of the Computer the Problem is still there.A full Flightplan was loaded.(EHAM-TNCM).

Hi Jim,Sorry, forgot to mention that I was using B394. I had lock to closest off because when at PANC lock to closest always brings up the weather for Lake Hood Seaplane Base right next to it. I just did another flight and the weather lasted longer, enough to get into the air and to 24,000 ft. After that, it just cut out. I actually watched the wind drop to nothing on the screen in front of me. I have another screenshot showing this... notice there is no wind at all aloft and the SAT at my position is 11 deg C less than shown on ASA at the closest station for that altitude. Thanks for your help.Sheldon

I confirm B394 and "Lock to Closest Station" was checked. It seems that it is working today.Expect the rapid Weather and Cloud Changes/Popping that allready reported from other Users.

Hi Sheldon,What happens if you use a default plane? Thanks,
Hi Jim,Just used the same weather but flew the default 737 and did not have the same issue. The winds acted like ASA said they would and the pressure and temps seemed fine. Is this a PMDG specific problem?Sheldon
