pls help, 1280X1024 vs 1024X768

Hi all,Im having several doubts about my problem...when Im at 1280X1024 all planes looks exactly as they should be (in size) and FPS arent high...but when I change to 1024X768 Project Airbus A320 looks kinda a A318 , samething with all other planes (too short)...and my FPS are like in 40 vs 25 in 1280X1024.I've tried several new and old drivers...nothing changed with this.Please help with this...any comments, or this is common

Actually it's the 1280x1024 that gives you a distorted image, on account of it not being in the standard 4 by 3 relationship of screeen size, Windows operating system, MSFS, add-ons, and drivers. Everything in, on and around your computer has been designed to work in a 4 by 3 screen resolution relationship, so OF COURSE you get better results (like frame rates) in 1024x768. Just use this resolution for a while, and soon you'll get used to the REAL shape of aircraft. It's not that in 1024x768 they are "too short", but in 1280x1024 they're actually TOO LONG!Jaap Verduijn.

Yep, that's the resolution I use. 1024x768 is a little too grainy, 1280x1024 squishes the aircraft, but 1280x960 is just right. :)Regards,Steve Dra

Possibly, the monitor needs calibrating back to the correct 4:3 ratio, assuming its a standard monitor.Nokia do a useful little utility to aid monitor setup.Try http://www.comelsoft.com/ftp/Other/Nokia%20Test/ChasW

A very worthwhile and complete monitor test program. Thanks!This program runs on your primary monitor. If you have two monitors, I didn't see any way to get the test pattern on the second monitor. There is a work around, however,If you want ntest to run on your second monitor, right click on the desk top to start "Display Properties", click Settings, click the second monitor (Big 2), then click the check box "Use this device as the primary monitor". Then run "ntest" again. The test pattern will appear on the second monitor.After you have adjusted the second monitor, select the number one back as the primary monitor.Larry J Florence, MT
