Tower placement with AFCAD.......

Recommended Posts

I have made my own AFCAD airport file and enjoy the ease of use of AFCAD, but im having one problem so far,When i try to reposition the tower at the airport in question, it allows me to do that and i save it, but when i launch FS9 it still gives me the default tower view location? Any ideas on what i may be missing or doing wrong? I reopen the Modded AFCAD and it shows my changes are in affect but it does not in FS9.Thanks.......

Hello,Download and install "FSRecorder". You can find it here:http://www.fs-recorder.netThis will certainly help you.You can set many towers views for a terrain as you like. This is IMHO a "must have" addon.Regards.bye.gif

And finally, you're not doing anything wrong, it's another one of those FS quirks.

It's always worked for me, tower position is saved in the .FLT file so it may be inheriting the old tower position from a saved flight or from your default flight, try world>go to airport and reset yourself at the airport you're trying to modify and see if that makes any difference.Jim

As Jim has pointed out, any time you save a flight and select it later or when you select the "previous flight", the tower view has been saved as part of the data in the FLT file. You can use notepad and open one up to see that info anytime. So it is important that after you have moved the tower location that you do not select the "previous flight" or one which has been saved which uses that airport. Instead, create an all new flight (at the airport in question) and you should see the results of your tower move.Hope that is helpful. :(

That is odd. I don't use flight files. I set up my flight from the main FS screen (uses the default flight to a certain degree) and tower view has always been unreliable for me.
