Problem with FSX's Real Weather?

Recommended Posts

Just curious... Is anyone having issues with the FSX Real Weather option where no matter where you are, the downloaded real weather is always the same? I keep retrieving it via the "Real-world weather (updated every 15 minutes) option and it just keeps giving me the same metar no matter which airport I'm at.

From my understanding. fsx gets it data from the nearest weather tation. Of course there are a lot of airports that dont have them so fsx i assume does a best guess. I find that it gets really bad once away from major cities, but then it never was that accurate anyway.

Did you try it with a flight plan entered? Anyway, it gave me some very erratic winds so I long ago gave up on it and reverted to ASV6 and now to ASA for real world weather.
