S(.1 update installation problem

Recommended Posts

I have airport sceneries from Cloud 9 & Dreamteam, for some reason they worked without the FS9.1 update, I thought maybe another scenery updated it automatically. However the Addon Manager from Dreamteam disappeared a short while ago leaving me without the airports sceneries.I need the update in order to install the Addon Manager however it halts when it needs to process the modules (see the attached photo). My computer crashed a couple of years ago, I installed ths FS2004 directly into a second hard drive (D).So I have not altered it in any way as I can think of.I like to mention that the first time I ran de update from outside the FS2004 ut got the same problem as later. As the installation was not finished I presume that nothing was changed as regards the modules.I think I once changed the vertex texure level ?? number as certain sceneries needed a different level than the original fs9 cfg in the hidden files section.N.B. I have the following files1) Main Fl Sim 9 map BACKUP 0 bytes Unpatch.bak2) In Module map 4 files with same name as in main Flight Simulator 9 map RTA86510 RTB86510 RTA63200 RTB63200In main FS9 map they seem to have been made during installation try.Can anyone help me to get the installation of FS9.1 update completed. Also posted this problem on Forum Dreamteam, got a lot of tips from the Dreamteam but nothing seems to work.I have many othe airport and aircraft (pay & free) some dating back from FS2002,I presume they will still work if I manage to update the FS9.

Are you saying that you're trying to update to FS9.1? Visual flight don't redistribute that, I think. You can get the 9.1 update hereEDIT - sorry, ignore, just seen your update post.

I just went through the same thing, roughly, as you, and it was a nightmare. The modules that control the Cloud9 and Dreamteam sceneries are "bglman" and "bglman_fsdt". These modules are modified by FS every time you add one of their sceneries. DO NOT TOUCH EITHER ONE! I tried to move one from another installation of FS, and it destroyed the version I was trying to fix. I had to de-install the whole thing because it would never load again. That began a snowball effect. When I de-installed FS, I did not de-install the 9.1 update FIRST, like it says in the 9.1 instructions. I re-installed FS into the same folder with all my addons, then tried to install the 9.1 update and I never could. My computer thought it was already installed.I'm sorry, but what you need to do is install FS, from the original disks, from scratch, into a different location, under a different folder name than your first version. Next, install the 9.1 update, then move all your addons into the new install, then re install the Cloud9 and FSDT sceneries from the zips you downloaded. This will rebuild the "bglman" modules correctly. That is what took me over a week to figure out, and I am finally back up and running.
