Project Concorde lighting issue?

Recommended Posts

Guest LonelyplanetXO

Hi all,Just wondered if anyone knew of a lighting fix for Project Concorde. The forums on the site are in French, which I dont speak. For those who havent tried it, Project Concorde is a very nice freeware rendering of Concorde, but it is a wee bit buggy. If you like the aircraft, I reckon its worthwhile putting up with the imperfections.http://fsfrance.free.fr/Mach2/Main_eng.htmHappy landingsLonelyplanetXO

Could you explain a little more what the lighting fix is? Andrew

He's trying to point out a well documented issue... Some of the Concord variations in this package have no VC lighting. This is an issue I hope someone solves in the near future.

Thanks dilloll0, If you open your aircraft.cfg file of the aircraft that does not have the VC lighting, and scroll down to the [Lights] section, you should have the following: [LIGHTS]//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing light.0 = 2, -49.619,-37.877, -6.327, fx_strobe ,light.1 = 2, -49.619, 37.877, -6.327, fx_strobe ,light.2 = 3, -49.619,-37.877, -6.327, fx_navredm ,light.3 = 3, -49.619, 37.877, -6.327, fx_navgrem ,light.4 = 2, -113.195, 0.069, 3.038, fx_navwhih ,light.5 = 1, 22.006, -5.242, -2.362, fx_beacon ,light.6 = 1, 22.006, 5.242, -2.362, fx_beacon ,light.7 = 3, 21.906, -5.311, -2.383, fx_navredm ,light.8 = 3, 21.906, 5.311, -2.383, fx_navredm ,light.9 = 3, -113.195, -0.069, 3.038, fx_navwhih ,light.10 = 1, -112.395, -0.069, 2.400, fx_beacon ,light.11 = 5, 30.000, 8.000, -5.400, Conc_splash_1 ,light.12 = 5, 30.000, -8.000, -5.400, Conc_splash_1 ,light.13 = 4, 40.000, 0.00, 1.539, Conc_cabin_light ,light.14 = 4, 30.000, 0.00, 1.539, Conc_cabin_light ,light.15 = 4, 20.000, 0.00, 1.539, Conc_cabin_light ,light.16 = 4, 10.000, 0.00, 1.539, Conc_cabin_light ,light.17 = 4, 62, 0.00, 2.139, fx_vclighth,light.18 = 4, 50, 0.00, 2.139, fx_vclighth,If not, try adding this text to the aircraft.cfg file and see if it helps. Thanks Andrew, But all of that info is there and more. Problem is (and it has been well documented, as mentioned above) that there is a bug by which the VC panel lights shut off when the afterburners or landing lghts are switched on. Seems to be related to using the shift key. Additionally, runway lighting is intermittent when viewed through the VC. Makes night approaches a bit er, challenging; when you're on final - approaching a blacked out airport with no instrument lighting ;-)LPXO

I have experienced the runway lighting flickering through the VC, I agree - quite annoying. The only thing I can think of is that the glass file may be the cause. I'm flying now - with a glass file that I have painted black, so it is completely transparent. I'll have a look on landing and see if the lights still flicker. Sorry I couldn't be of any more help. I spend most of my time working on panels, and leave the aircraft models to the guys who know what they're doing ! :)You say that this situation is documented; Is this for the PM2 Concorde, or for every VC in FS? Andrew
