Sucked out at 21,000,

Recommended Posts

A guy in northern CANADA apparently opened the door of a King Air. The airplane was at FL210 or so and there was a ruckus onboard. The interesting part of the article is they say that the guy jumped out of the craft. At FL210 if you got the door open, you would be sucked out. Oh well.JimCYWG

I read about it too. If I recall-yearly there are about 50 suicides done in airplanes. I remember last year someone went up with a cfi I think in Colorado-opened the door and jumped out..

I guess it would get a bit more interesting if it was the CFI who jumped out.Do I get to join the sick puppy club? :( Colin

I was just thinking about the tough time the guy would have climbing over the instructor to get at the door. This sounds a little hard to believe.

Why would he have to climb over anyone in a King Air? The door is in the back.

It was in a cessna 150 or 172-each side has a door.Besides jumping out-there are about 1-2 suicides with airplanes a year:http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4474032
