I have Vista with an nVidia 8800GTX... FS9 runs fine.FS9 doesn't use DirectX 10 and changing your OS and video card isn't going to change that.

DX10 capable cards are fully compliant with DX9 so they will run fs2004 and any other dx9 app without any problems.

It is backward compatible... but you can not get all 3D graphic enhancement features on DX10... :)BR.

Of course you can! But......that was not the question! :( There are three absolute requirements for DX10 to work:1. Operating system - Vista32, Vista64, Vista72. Video Card - nVidia or ATI w/DX10 capability3. Software - must be coded with DX10 shader calls (FSX SP2/Acceleration)It's not all that complicated. If any one of the above is not true, then DX10 features simply will not work!

I think it was the question! it seems the OP is upgrading his computer with a dx10 card and wants to know if fs9 will still work. Not if fs9 will suddenly run with dx10.could be wrong but that's my take on how he worded the question...

The answer is no.As many others have said, DX10 is not implemented in FS9.
