Flight1 Mustang with FSX Service Pack 1?

Recommended Posts

I assumed he already bought it and reverted to SP1 because he wanted to run Tileproxy....

Even without tileproxy, if Autogen is turned off when SP2 is installed, buildings can disappear and reappear during a flight. A good example of this is flying out of Tahoe Valley towards Stateline, NV. As you fly closer, with autogen off, the casinos will vanish or reappear depending on your POV. So I do blame ACES for this--not everyone flies with Autogen on. It does not always realistically depict the real world, whether one uses Tileproxy or not. The option of having it off while flying should have been considered.
Unable to reproduce. I flew around numerous cities with autogen and scenery complexity both maxxed on, both off, and every combination of each I could think of, and never once had any buildings dissappearing or appearing.

Im running service pack 2 from the acceleration install. Depending on my viewpoint, and how quickly I change it, the entire Vegas strip can be gone, and then come back instantly before my eyes. This of course is as worse as it gets. Airport buildings do the same for me, when I have alot going on and am in a busy or graphically conjested issue. I had read (I think) that the bufferpools setting can help this. But per NickN's advice, I have played with and found that the bufferpools setting does not do much for me and my 512meg card. So yes, in my opinion - some good came with SP2, but some bad also....Seems like this is getting off topic, and kinda like a journey back in time. The newest releases are going to be mostly only SP2 compliant, and I suppose we have to adjust to that or have 2 installs.Danon -

Actually Vegas was one of my test cities, I had 0 problems there. I have never used Nicks advice, but my system is tweaked by www.fs-gs.com so maybe thats the difference.
