Black screen when trying to access the PMDG menu in FS2004 (with wisdows vista)

Hello everyone, Please excuse me if I did not do a proper search before posting, I am not very familiar with forums, I did not find an answer to my proplem using the search key, but maybe I missed it... If so, I'm sorry for double postingHere is my problem : I use FS2004 with windows vista SP1, I installed the MD-11, and tried the tutorial flight. When it says go to the PMDG menu, I can access the main FS menu, but when I click "PMDG" the screen turns black :( ... I can't do anything... If I press "Alt + F4" the screen returns to the MD-11 cockpit. Does anyone have that problem ? Is there a solution ? I suppose the problem comes from vista, but if anybody has a idea or a magic method to change that, I'd love to hear it ! This is so annoying, having such a beautiful bird and not being able to exploit the available options ! Nail%20Biting.gifThank you for all the tips you can give me !John Lancaster.

What happens if your screen turns black and you press ALT + ENTER? It should go from full screen to windowed and possible show you the PMDG menu. I had similar issues but that was with my 2nd video-output connected to my TV. It had to do with the resolutionsettings in my case.Do you have the latest driver installed?

Eric,Thanks a lot for your quick answer, I have not tried the "Alt Enter" combination ! Silly me ! I'll try that tonight and keep you informed. As for the drivers, yup, they are the latest ones from Nvidia.CheersJohn

Have you tried adapting this FSX solution for FS9?http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=249930Tim

Eric, Thanks again for the tip, tried "ALT + ENTER" yesterday evening and it worked ! Yeepee !Tim, thanks for the idea, I'll check that out and see if it prevents the alt+enter part !Happy flying !John.

I get this problem if I fly using full screen, in windowed mode it's fine. In full screen mode I get this problem with the PMDG menu, FSUIPC menu and also when I alt-tab out and back in.
