Beta Testers and Suggestioneers Wanted

Recommended Posts

I have been working on and off on a program called Preferred Route and it is just a simple MS Access database that is used to store and retrieve my personal flight plans that I have found, created, or been given over the years. It is a big upgrade from a text pad :). After a whole year of keeping "Preferred Route" to myself, I am wanting to develop it more and finally get it into it's own self executible program interface. Adding to this will also be the "Airport Terminal Information" database which I recently created in order to keep up with where to park at the many airports I visit with the two or three liveries I fly. I am going to join P.R and A.T.I together into one programmed database and user interface with it's own installer and all that jazz. The use of P.R is primarily an organized and simple way of storing and accessing virtual air traffic "preferred routes" that you must file for an online flight with IVAO or VATSIM. An example would be this flight from KLAX to KATL: LAXX3.TRM J78 IRW J6 LIT J66 MEM.RMG2 If you are interested in beta testing these needed programs, please email me @ wilsonhines@hotmail.com or responde to this forum post for more information. You will need a copy of MS Access 97 or above. As time goes along, this requirement will be dropped and as stated above it will have it's own executible and installation. For screenshots, contact me.The homepage for the software will eventually be http://heavylhc.com and it will be uploaded for free usage on avsim.com!-----------Wilson HinesChief CaptainBush Logistics Corp.http://heavylhc.comAOL IM: dal276wh

Also, if there are any programmers out there that would like to assist that would be a great welcome! I only have basic HTML and some moderate Access skills, however I am learning as I go :) (Don't we all? :)-----------Wilson HinesChief CaptainBush Logistics Corp.http://heavylhc.comAOL IM: dal276wh

I am pretty experienced with Access (I took a course for Access XP last semester in college). I have Office XP here at home and I can look it over and beta test it. I also know quite a bit (not all, but the basics plus some other things) of Visual Basic. Only thing I don't know anything about is VATSIM or what "LAXX3.TRM J78 IRW J6 LIT J66 MEM.RMG2" means. I don't think this is a major thing, but I can still work on some of the database if needed.

Hey Zach. Our skill levels are respectivly about the same and probably leaning a bit heavier on your side. You got the job of suggestioneer #1. If you would, please send me an email @ six@heavylhc.com and let it contain your Full name, email address, location (City state/country), what kind of instant message program you use, if any, with the username.Don't worry about the flight plan, it looks very complicated, but in five minutes after I explain it you will wonder why it looked so daunting! It is easy as taking candy from a baby. Thanks and I am looking forward to talking more with you!-----------Wilson HinesChief CaptainBush Logistics Corp.http://heavylhc.comAOL IM: dal276wh

If your interested, please don't hesitate in emailing and/or responding to this thread.Currently, I am finishing up the final beta release touches so you can all best see the look and feel.I am also going to get a web page up on http://heavylhc.com this afternoon for the purpose of explaining what we are working on and the project's progress. Also, a forum will be setup in just a few minutes at http://heavylhc.com/forums for the purpose of team members communication. Those of you who have emailed, expect an email this afternoon with further info and instructions.-----------Wilson HinesChief CaptainBush Logistics Corp.http://heavylhc.comAOL IM: dal276wh
