"Disclaimers" (Legal Docs) in files - your views??

Recommended Posts

Hello, As many of you know, alot of us like to include 'disclaimers' or as they are more commonly known "Legal" documentation in our files. In mine I basically point out that the file is freeware but cannot be uploaded to any other website than AVSIM without my permission etc....Today I received an email from someone who had downloaded on of my files, and he sent me a copy of my 'disclaimer' saying it makes the file look like a 'waste' and 'less enjoyable'. This is the first ever such email ive got with this kind of complaint. What do you think about disclaimers? Are they worth it or not? Personally I think they are, as the file is 'your' creation after all right? So in that case shouldn't you get to choose where the file is hosted?Comments please... :) Thank YouLee

Disclaimers are a necessity, whether certain individuals like it or not. :)

IMHO, without them, it would simply open doors to 'legal' file leeching.
