June 1, 200917 yr Hi folks! After some training period with the MD11 I decided to activate the failures, so I can have some more fun and learn better the airplane. Right after I activated the failures, I was in a dark and cold cockpit and started all the startup procedures. The hydraulic test failed, as there was a leakage in the HYD 1 system. The manual tells to call maintenance for that problem, but I don't know how to do that. There's a couple of buttons on the overhead panel for calling the ground crew and the mechanic, but I had no luck pressing them. Finally I had to reset the failure going to the failures panel, but it feels like a dirty way. Is there any way to call the maintenance when a failure that requires so is detected? Thanks in advance!/Javier Martinez

I suggested perhaps in future products to have an option in the FMC where you can clear faults without having to go into the PMDG options as I'm sure most people would agree it's nice being able to use the FS menu options as little as possible as it keeps things flowing a little better.Regarding calling Mechanic, how would they simulate it? would you have to sit at the ramp for an hour or more while your virtual tech guys trouble shoot the problem?
