Getting rid of the VC on Posky Aircraft

Featured Replies

Hello all,I noticed when I install the same panels on different types of Posky 757's sometimes the VC remains on when I toggle left or right, others don't. I tried deleting the VC file and now my planes wont show up. On the the other hand, when I remove the bit textures it will eliminate some of the cockpit but not all of it. Any help with this will be appreciated....JT

Hi,The way I (and I guess a lot of others) permanently remove a VC is to hack the mdl file with an hex-editor.If the words 'hack', 'hex' and 'editor' do not sound familiair, just disregard this message. If they do, search for 'remove' and 'VC' and I'm sure you will find info about the above mentioned method.

This might work. Remember to back up the mdl file first. It worked on the MADDOG but not sure about your plane.Download the following hex editor.http://www.handshake.de/user/chmaas/delphi...nload/xvi32.zipTo disable the VC and keep the landing lights working open the MDL file up in the hex editor. Look for the 2nd occurance of 00 22 00 39 00.Change the 39 to a 38. If it doesn't work I don't know what to do.The origional answer was in the forums here but is gone now. This is not my idea but someone elses.Good luckJimCYWG

Thanks, I'll give this a try...Will the hex editor guide me me where I need to go? I've never used this before....

Fire up the hex editor and hit file - open and navigate to the MDL file. After the mdl file is loaded, click search - find. Type in the 5 sets of 2 digits. The program will automatically space them apart. When the 1st string is found, click F3 to find the next occurance and change the 39 to q 38 and save.Good luckI havn't used this for a while so it is from a fuzzy memory that I do this. Just back up in case it screws up.How come you can hack every file in FS except FS.exe and sim1.DLL without breaking rules?JimCYWG
