Ho ho ho, spoke too soon. About 30 minutes later, EHAM to LEPA @ FL370 somewhere around Marseilles, "Flight Simulator encountered an eroor". Drat. There was no OOM message. and the flight was a lot longer than previous crashes but I'm still none the wiser.

HiOne Note. If You have AES do not activate 3Gb switch, because You will have CTD.Search on Aerosoft forum for details.RegardsEdin

Not True Edin... You "may" get them in certain circumstances and there are workarounds. Also AES V2.x apparently has code to address the issue. But to just make a blanket statement like above is unfair and inaccurate.-Paul

Can You give me please , steps to do, to get rid off CTDs when using 3GB sw and AES?I didn't make a blanket statement. I tried and always have CTDs in some areas, like on route LOWS and EDDF (Aerosoft EDDF 2008)After deactivating 3Gb switch everything normal. I didn't visit AES forum lately so probably you are more informed that me, but I didn't make my statement just like that. So, in my case AES and 3Gb sw does not work. And on Aerosoft forum I saw that You are one of the lucky one not having G3d.dll.This error I have got only with activating 3GB/sw. Few times I had FE.dll CTD but this one is connected with missing texture problem. So, with my statement I tried to help.My CTD was eliminated by making this (frequently I had terrain.dll CTD):Simply loading Terrain.cfg to notepad and replace allMaskClassMap=1 to MaskClassMap=0and allMaskClassMap=3 to MaskClassMap=0Before that make a BACKUP of terrain.cfg, just in case.P.S. more info about AES and 3GB sw here: http://www.forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?sh...7418&st=160P.S.S. Sorry, but I didn't see in your post any facts which may help to prevent OOM, except criticism to my post. Edin

Edin,Not going to get into a long debate with you but it is not what you say but how you say it... If you say "One Note. If You have AES do not activate 3Gb switch, because You will have CTD." It is a blanket statement. If you would have said, be careful when activating AES with the /3gb switch I got CTD's and you may too it is an appropriate statement of your experiences that may help others. And as for contributing to the whole OOM conversation just search my user name, I have been doing it for years, going back to helping find the UT fix that drove the latest FS9 UT patch to address OOM errors... I was also one of the first to assert that the FS9 and FSX OOM errors were caused by a 32 bit OS limitation. So rather than trying to defend yourself and lash out in defense just accept some constructive criticism. As for eliminating the CTD's with AES, have you tried the latest release? Apparently Oliver added code to help eliminate the issue for those that were seeing it. I was also getting the CTD's when I was on a 32 bit O/S using UK2000 EGCC and for me removing the UK2000 ground traffic resolved the issue. That was also posted in the Aerosoft forums. If you want a real fix move to a 64 bit OS and eliminate the /3GB switch, that is the only real fix...Cheers,-PaulOh yeah, you shouldn't have the CTD with AES and the /3GB switch if using two AES enabled airport and the other fix is to go to an AES airport first, hit ctrl-shft-W to load AES into memory and then go do your flight... All info readily available at the Aerosoft forums...

HiThanks for the tips.About way of saying, keep in mind that English is not my native language, and If i wrote in Croatian for example this kind of misunderstanding will not happen :( I didn't solve CTD witn new AES, but maybe is not problem with AES. As I saw the problem is very complicated and depends on various factors (scenerys, AI ac, etc)Temporary I'm happy with normal FS9 without 3Gb switch and usually my MEM usage with PMDG MD11 is max 1100000K VM size. This will not lead to Out of Mem message. The problem for me is that sometimes I have FE.dll CTD around Klagenfurt Airport. I tested now with LOWK2007 patch and I don't have anymore missing texture (observed with Filemon), but still Memusage around this area is increased. Peak value around 1100000K, drops to 880000K.Thanks, and no hard fillings.Edin

No hard feelings at all Edin, sometimes I need to be reminded not everyone here speaks English as a native language and you are certainly doing much better than me, I speak NO Croation at all :( The best advice I can give you is to get a 64 Bit O/S... They really are the ultimate fix for the OOM errors, you don't have to worry about the /3gb switch, no more AES errors and FS is finally really really stable although CTD's are usually something else entirely and a 64 Bit O/S "should" not resolve a CTD but I have heard of stranger things LOL. The ones that happen sometimes are the hardest to fix though, any simmer who has been around knows how frustrating they can be too. I hope you can track it down.Cheers,-Paul
