June 18, 200916 yr I have a reflective monitor which is fine used at night with no glare coming in from sunlight. But in the day it is impossible to see anything in FSX at night except lights. But in any case I find the scenery lighting at night too dim and there is not enough ambient light. I think I know which textures in the FSX texture folder affect this (sky_night /after sunset etc etc) and these bmp files have a row of single pixels at the top left (which I think are a summary of the hues used in the bmp, a single pixel at the bottom left (don't know what this is for but it's nearly always purple) and a single pixel top right which I assume might be the AMBIENT light level/colour.Now if this top right pixel really does set the ambient light I assume that changing its colour and intensity can increase the amount of overall light in a night scene. If so then is it effective to edit this and change the intensity?PS: Of course one can simply turn up the monitor brightness but that's not the same thing as it merely washes out the night image. Thanks to anyone who can confirm the above.Rob Young Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
