July 9, 200916 yr Hi everybody,I'm a happy user of AS6.5 build 533 with FS2004. I really love the program but there is one thing I'm looking for help with. I don't know if its an issue with AS Graphics or my video card. The issue I have is the way lighting is rendered in instrument conditions...I choose to fly into an area/airport that is very low or zero visibility. Often, when I land, the reflection of my landing lights or taxi light against the fog, for example is such that I cannot see the ground properly with the light on, but I can't see the taxiways/runway at all with the landing light or taxi light off. Similarly, when flying through clouds at night, the lighting of the cloud has an amost electric-looking hue to it.Does anybody have a recommended optimum set up that gets rid of that odd shine/reflection?My system specs:Windows XP SP2AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core 5000+ 2.61 GHz3.25 GB RamATI Radeon HD 3650 with 1GB RamThanks, Amixa
July 9, 200916 yr Hi,Please post a picture of the flying through the clouds situation. The other situations look like FS being FS and nothing to do with AS or your graphics card. Thanks,
July 10, 200916 yr Author Now that I need a really good example, I'm having difficulty finding one. Anyway, here is a shot (aircraft panel minimized) of what it looks like on climbout in IMC. I think the different colours are supposed to be moonlight reflecting off of clouds. That said, I think you may have a point about the other issues being caused by something other than ASV6, because if you look at the external view of the aircraft on climbout, you'll notice the strange layering of colours that I also think is supposed to be light reflecting. If the issue isn't with ASV6 or ASG, but you still have ideas, I would be most grateful.-Amixap.s. I'm having difficulty figuring out how to post the examples. I'm sending this reply, and will send the examples in my next reply.
July 10, 200916 yr Author Hi again,Looks like I need to have my own website in order to get screenshots on the site (?). I don't have a website. Let me play around with my ASV6 and ASG a little more. Hopefully I can fix my problems. If not, I'll look into getting a website. Thanks,Amixa
July 10, 200916 yr Hi,E-mail your shots to jim(AT)hifisim.comNot sure how these forums are handling shots right now.Don't get a site just for this. We can use e-mail just as easy.Make sure your computer graphics and FS are running in 32 bit color and not 16 bit. Thanks,
