Aerosoft ATR approach and landing

Recommended Posts

Hi there,I recently purchased the ATR series from Aerosoft and I must say its a very nice aircraft ( relatively on par with the PSS Dash 8 for the most part ). However, the documentation is very sparse regarding the short final and landing phase. Can someone elaborate on how the ATR is flown on short final and the proper landing technique ( i.e. do you reduce power crossing the threshold and maintain a certain amount of torque (~10 to 15%) into the flare ( as with the Dash 8 ), etc.) or do you reduce to idle before the flare. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also, when the mains touch down, the nose gear dives down onto the runway with the slightest push on the yoke. Is this a realistic representation of what happens with the real ATR, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any assistanceJ.C. (MYNN)
