I recently had purchased the Duke and was suggested by folks here in the forum to equip it with the RXP GNS530. I have done so, and I Love it. Now I would like to know what other aircraft have the Ability to make use of the RXP Garmin 530 in the VC?Gary

I have the 530 in the Carenado 182Q, 162RG, Mooney, Eaglesoft Twinkie and Beechjet Hawker, Piglet's Mini Mite, MAAM DC-3, The Duke, of course, mmmm, and perhaps others.I have the RXP 430 in some of the above as well (second panel cfg) and many other GA aircraft.

I've added it to every plane I own-but a few end up wierd due to 3d cockpit stuff-I wish all had the class of Real Air to make it an easy and good looking addition!

I could, but I also have my panels with 'Friendly Panel' radios (except the Twinkie), thus, I'm afraid that my .cfg's would not be much help unless you have the ability to to edit those into something else, or also purchase the Friendly Panel 'gauge package'. In addition, I have also switched out many of my 'steam gauges' to RXP units as well. The RG shot below was an early screen shot, and has actually been modified with two additional panels with different sets of RXP 'T' gauges.here is a couple shots:The RG182RG-FSXSMALL.jpgThe Q, but I have a similar layout to the RG with the 530 as above. As you can see, I have changed out some of the 'steam gauges' with RXP 'T' units. My RG is now similar:182q430.jpgAnd the Twinkie, but with this, I moved some stuff around a bit, and use some blank faceplates from the DF Dakota:TC_RAXP3.jpg

Gary, here is one for my RG:182 RG configI don't use the 'steam gauge' pop-ups, so never 'linked' those to the RXP units I have in my VC. But you could do that pretty easily.

A little tip Gary; the four numbers after the gauge, i.e. AA,BB,CC,DD are the gauge location left to right (laterally), then top to bottom (longitudinally). then gauge width, and finally gauge height. After you get the hang of it, it isn't too hard to figure out after you lean each panel lay-out. I do all my edits simply with notepad, and a bit of trial an error :(

Bkeske-Your shots/cockpits are a thing of beauty. I was talking to an FS developer at Oshkosh the other day-and it is truly amazing to see these works of art like you posted with real working/looking avionics/panels, compared to what simming was like even 10 years ago.

Much appreciated Geof.Yes, I don't think I could turn back the clock ten years ago and be satisfied anymore :( ....but, it was also those days that also taught me the basics while quizzing my father about proper use of the '6-pack' and basic navigation aids. Funny though, I've been flying for the last couple weeks around Tongass using my AS Beaver and RA Scout, and I've been enjoying the heck out of flying without barely any navigation aids at all except for my charts and looking out the window. That said, I have 'snuck in' some time in my new Lionheart Quest Kodiak modified with a pretty nice third party G1000 unit by FS2X that works much more as the real thing vs the default or MS units. What a neat unit that G1000 is. Odd to fly a 'bush' aircraft like the Kodiak with such modern equipment, but I can see what an incredible asset it can be in the boonies as well. I'm really looking forward the the ES releases with the Mindstar units....anyway, yea, panel modding has become a bit of passion of mine, and allows the ability to make these aircraft 'personal', thanks to the wonderful third party tools provided by the likes of like RXP, Friendly Panels, and now FS2X.
