August 1, 200916 yr I know that it might early to ask, but does anyone know if PMDG's upcoming NGX FMS will suppport RNAV (RNP) SAAAR/AR approaches with RF legs? With the airlines like Alaska, SWA, WestJet and others moving rapidly towards the RNP world, NGX's ability to accurate simulate RNAV (RNP) approaches like the examples into KPSP, PANJ, etc. would be a welcome feature. I thought I would put the bug in PMDG's ear about adding this feature/capablity to the NGX's FMS. Addition of this feature would place this simulator well ahead of other similators. If PMDG requires technical assistance to make this happen, please contact me.Best regards,Rich BollWichita, KS Richard Boll Wichita, KS
August 1, 200916 yr The last I heard is that the ARINC420 syntax, include RF legs, will not be incorporated into the NGX; however, it is too far in advance to be definitive. I too would love to see this feature, and I've asked for a RF-like ability in the existing "macro" syntax but haven't heard if they are giving that a try. Dan Downs KCRP
August 1, 200916 yr What exactly is all this IAN, ANP and RNAV RNP equipped planes stuff? I have a "general" understanding of some of it, but please fill me in. Also, RF as in the actual radio frequency of stations? Emil Bjornholt - Norway - ENGM ~ Ultimate guide to the best FSX Addons on the market ( 2014 ) ~ www.fsxgetstarted.com/
August 1, 200916 yr If you search this forum for RNAV RNP or RNAV RNP SAAR or just RNP approaches - there was plenty on this subject. Even going on Google there is a good deal info on the subject. "RF" stands for "radius-to-fix". Michael J.

RNP is RNAV with performance monitoring & alerting self contained iwthin the navigation system. If ANP is > RNP, the system alerts the pilot so that preventative or corrective action may be taken.RNAV (RNP) SAAAR or AR = RNAV Approach Procedure, RNP navigation, with Special Aircraft & Aircrew Authorization Required (SAAAR) or simply Authorization Required (AR)All part of Performance Based Navigation. I'm sure we'll try to support the RNP stuff the best we can, I'll make a note of it with EV... Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com

I would love to see this in action, to get a better understanding of how everything works. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out. It's just that RNP is such a important and emerging factor in this aircraft that it would be ashame if it was not simulated to some extent in the NGX version. Thanks,Rich Richard Boll Wichita, KS
August 3, 200916 yr Commercial Member Ohhhh how I dream of shooting an RNP into PSP (one of my favorite regional airports), that would be such a selling point to me. Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
August 3, 200916 yr Ohhhh how I dream of shooting an RNP into PSP (one of my favorite regional airports), that would be such a selling point to me.The problem with this is that there is no published RNP approach into PSP. We have been trying to get one for a while now at our company
August 3, 200916 yr There are three published RNP approaches at KPSP. They are modelled in my sidstar collection, file pmdg0908.zip over at flightsim.com. Dan Downs KCRP
August 6, 200916 yr Commercial Member EV mentioned 3 acronyms to me today - IAN, FAC, GP. These are in the simulation ;) Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
