Unable to download anything

Dear someone cleverer than me, before i have been anble to download files, that is prior to about 2 weeks ago, nothing has changed on my PC and yet it either locks up and doesnt download the file, or it says page cannot be displayed, i have checked the FAQ and followed that and still nothing, can someone please tell me what i need my internet security settings to be at so i can download, i have added AVSIM and all its bits to the trusted sites and still nothing.thanks in advance and merry christmas to allregardsbond
